Welcome to Stepping Stone University Preschool

Established in 2016 on California’s Central Coast, SSUP is a Montessori-inspired preschool offering programs for infants (4–18 months), toddlers (18–36 months), and preschool/kindergarten children (3–6 years). Our nurturing environment encourages independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning—because every child deserves the stepping stone into their future.

 

At Stepping Stone University Preschool (SSUP), we believe that every child holds limitless potential. Since our founding in 2016 on California’s Central Coast, our mission has been to provide a warm, Montessori-inspired learning environment that supports the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally.

 

 

Our Programs

 

 

We offer three thoughtfully designed programs to meet the unique needs of each stage of early childhood:

 

• Infant Program (4–18 months): A safe, nurturing environment where trust, attachment, and early developmental milestones are supported.

• Toddler Program (18–36 months): A hands-on classroom that fosters independence, movement, language, and social-emotional growth.

• Primary Preschool & Kindergarten Combo (3–6 years): A rich Montessori learning environment where children explore math, language, sensorial, cultural, and practical life materials—preparing them for both academic readiness and lifelong curiosity.

 

 

 

Our Montessori Philosophy

 

 

The Montessori approach, created by Dr. Maria Montessori, emphasizes respect for the child, independence, and purposeful exploration. Children learn in a prepared environment designed to inspire concentration, creativity, and discovery.
